Do your Monday actions reflect your Sunday worship? How about your claims to faith? Is your life full of noticeable changes and actions? James, the half-brother of Jesus, wasn’t impressed with talk. He knew talk was cheap. He knew that a life of faith was about action-action that showed a difference. In his book, James boldly deals with practical issues of faith not bound by culture or place. James shows the importance of living a genuine life of faith. He is straightforward. He encourages, challenges, and confronts. His practical words are merciful admonitions to live out our faith. Join us for this practical Bible Study in the New Testament book of James.

Escape the enemy’s deadly trap! The Bait of Satan exposes one of the most deceptive snares Satan uses to get believers out of the will of God-offense. Most people who are ensnared by the bait of Satan don’t even realize it. You will encounter offense, and it’s up to you how it will affect your relationship with God. Your response will determine your future. If offense is handled correctly, you will become stronger rather than bitter. In this tenth anniversary edition of his best-selling book, John Bevere shows us how to stay free from offense and escape the victim mentality.

MISSIONS ‘SUNDAY NIGHT CINEMA’…“THE END OF THE SPEAR” – Join us SUNDAY, MAY 20, 2012 at 6 pm at the ORCN Ministry Center for a special Movie Night! Bring the whole family as we show “The End of the Spear” (rated PG-13) a compelling story of courage, sacrifice and redemption. This film is based on the true story of five missionary martyrs to the Auca Indians in Ecuador in the 1950s. It is visually spectacular, filmed in the lush rainforests of Ecuador with monkeys and parrots, bush pigs and sloths, and the feared jaguar and anaconda. The scenery is breathtaking, and the story of how the Gospel came to the savage Waodani tribe is shocking and deeply challenging. Our padded church chairs will be available, but bring your own comfy chair/bean bag if you like. We’ll provide the Popcorn. Childcare provided.

When: April 22, 29 & May 6

Teacher: Mark & Laurie Pickell

While science generally contends that life and the universe are the products of undirected natural processes, new evidence from biology, chemistry, paleontology, physics, and astronomy points clearly to a world designed for a purpose. At the heart of this debate are three remarkable films that have helped define the major arguments for the existence of intelligent design behind all of life and the cosmos.

Teacher: Sharon Barkey

Children’s Bible Quizzing is studying the biblical book of Matthew this year. Kids get into Matthew and learn what the Bible says. Activities are specifically geared to help children immerse themselves in the ancient world, learning what life was like for Jesus and His followers. Each week children build their spiritual vocabulary as they incorporate FAITH WORDS into their everyday lives. Characteristics of God are revealed in each weekly “Dig Site” to help children learn who God is, what He is like, and how He interacts with people.

NEW SERMON SERIES “FAITH THAT WORKS” – Join us Sundays throughout the Spring as we collectively look to the New Testament Book of James for guidance on how our faith guides us through the “real life” issues common to us all. Pastor Steve’s sermon series on James will be broken down further in small group Bible Study Fellowship groups (meeting on Thursday nights at the Ministry Center at 7 PM) that encourages your questions, discussion and interaction. Two 1 for women. groups – 1 for men.

Child care provided.

When: Sundays, 6:00 – 7:30 pm.

Teacher: Keith & Kim Bianchini

Where: ORCN Ministry Center

Escape the enemy’s deadly trap! The Bait of Satan exposes one of the most deceptive snares Satan uses to get believers out of the will of God-offense. Most people who are ensnared by the bait of Satan don’t even realize it. You will encounter offense, and it’s up to you how it will affect your relationship with God. Your response will determine your future. If offense is handled correctly, you will become stronger rather than bitter. In this tenth anniversary edition of his best-selling book, John Bevere shows us how to stay free from offense and escape the victim mentality.

A WOMAN MUST BE PRESENT IN THE CAR THAT TRANSPORTS. Thank you in advance for helping in this worthy cause.

ORCN VALET SERVICE AVAILABLE – Orchard Ridge Church provides valet parking assistance to those who need it as you arrive at church. We realize that some of our seniors, parents with small children and those with physical challenges find it difficult to park and walk through the parking lot – especially on bad weather days. So just pull your car up to the door and look for one of our greeters at the curb. They’ll help you out of your car, park it, and return your keys immediately. They’ll also get your car for you after church if you need it. Contact Eddie Simcox (586) 677- 4962 for questions or if you would like to be a driver. You must be over 18 to participate as a driver in this ministry.

SUNDAY SERMONS AVAILABLE ON CD! – You can now order a sermon from Sunday AM worship on CD for $2. You can choose from any Sunday dating back to the beginning of the church. Just get an order form from the information desk and hand it in completed with your $2 to Steve Schultz. Due to copyright restrictions we cannot include Sunday music on the CDs.

BOB DUTKO CDs AVAILABLE – We have the ENTIRE BOB DUTKO CD collection of TOP 10 PROOFS (Evolution, Christianity: Only True Religion, God’s Existence, Resurrection, Young Earth, America’s Christian Heritage, Theistic Evolution, and Dinosaurs). You can check them out (no more than two at a time), at the information table. You may keep them for no more than two weeks at a time. Let’s all enjoy them!
